We meet on the third Sunday of every month (unless it conflicts with a national holiday) at 4:00 PM at the Community Center in Newton Falls, Ohio.
We also have informal get-togethers every Thursday night at 8:00 PM at the local Arby's.
We are a registered non-profit with the state of Ohio.
We run a repeater that is located in Middlefield, Ohio. The TX frequency is 442.250 MHz and the RX frequency is 447.250 MHz. The call sign of the repeater is KC8IBR.
Our purpose:
- To educate, facilitate, and promote the use of radio and other communications in the event of emergencies and other natural disasters.
- To provide timely and accurate weather reports for the National Weather Service and Safety Services.
- To provide communications for, NOT FOR PROFIT. Community and government organizations.
- To promote the exchange of information, individual operating efficiency, fraternalism and general co-operation between members; and
- To conduct activities and programs to educate the general public and to continue general interest and welfare of the members.
